Map records and blueprint overlays

HeavyCivilHelper connects an RFI, submittal, or directive to a project location. The same record can appear on the map and on an aligned blueprint overlay covering that location. Field and office teams can find where the issue sits without recreating the record for each view.

Why show the same construction record in more than one view?

A record list answers what happened and who needs to respond. A map pin answers where it happened. A positioned plan sheet shows the same pin against the design details that may explain the conflict. For an RFI about a crossing, a submittal for a structure, or a directive at a particular station, those views provide different context for the same underlying item. Satellite imagery helps orient the team, but it may not show recent field changes; use current photos, notes, and survey control where accuracy matters.

How do records appear on a blueprint overlay?

Place and align a project plan sheet over the map. Pins whose saved locations fall within the sheet's mapped area can then be viewed against the drawing. The web map supports repositioning, scaling, rotating, and adjusting the opacity of an overlay so its features can be compared with the background map. A pin keeps its saved location as the sheet's placement changes. Always verify critical alignment against survey control.

Can you print a plan with its pins and legend?

The blueprint viewer can print a plan with numbered pins, record details, and a printed legend. It offers Letter, 11 × 17, and 24 × 36 paper options, plus a choice to include photos. The on-screen legend is interactive for inspecting plan items; the printed legend is a static reference for the sheet. Check printer settings and drawing scale before using a print for measurement.
