Field app
HeavyCivilHelper field app for construction crews
The HeavyCivilHelper field app puts the project map in the crew's pocket. Available on iOS and Android, it is designed for one-handed use in direct sunlight with gloves on — the conditions field crews actually work in.
What field crews can do from their phone
- Drop a pin at current GPS location — One tap places a new item at the crew's exact location on the project map. No coordinate entry, no manual stationing — the phone's GPS does it.
- Update status on existing items — Open an RFI, directive, or submittal from the map and update its status in one tap. The office sees the change immediately.
- Attach field photos — Take a photo directly in the app and attach it to the pin at the location where it was taken. No emailing photos and hoping someone remembers where they were shot.
- Access RFIs and directives in the field — Open any open item from the map to read the full description, response, and notes without going back to the trailer.
- Real-time sync with the web app — Every update from the field appears on the office web view without a page refresh. The whole team works from the same live picture.
- Works in low-signal environments — The app is designed for project sites with unreliable cellular coverage. Core functions work with minimal signal.
Who the field app is for
Foremen, superintendents, inspectors, and field crew members who need to log field observations, update item status, and access project information from the work zone without returning to the office or the project trailer.
